Work. Work. Work. It’s keeping me pretty busy t Work. Work. Work.

It’s keeping me pretty busy the next few weeks. Generally I feel a nice balance between work, life and this passion project of mine but I can totally feel the shift toward the work lately.

I’m feeling the pressure but what’s awesome is that I can recognize that I’ve been stressed at work and I can offset that with other things at home to recharge and keep me in check.

So how do I do it?

⚖️ go to bed early
⚖️ connect with friends & family
⚖️ take naps
⚖️ put in 8 hours at work and LEAVE!
⚖️ treat myself to an afternoon coffee
⚖️ color with the kids (big stress relief for me!)
⚖️ balance socializing with time alone (the introvert in me needs time alone to recharge)
⚖️ read
⚖️ eat healthy breakfast and lunches at work (thank you @cleaneatzlancaster)
⚖️ order take out to eliminate another responsibility of making dinner OR go out to dinner (or both like I did this weekend)
⚖️ watch a new show (loving Inventing Anna!)
⚖️ delegate to your hubby (I didn’t do one load of laundry this weekend— didn’t even fold!)
⚖️ plan future fun events (while it may be stressful to book your weekends, it gives you things to look forward to)

These are all the things I’ve actually done since Friday to help with this shift. I haven’t felt like doing all of these but I have definitely felt better after doing them!

My advice— Be mindful, plan tasks to help you recharge and remember that work-life balance reduces stress, anxiety, and burnout. It increases energy, promotes calmness, and improves happiness.

It won’t always come easily but something you can do to boost your happiness is identify your favorite part of the day and/or 3 positives from that day.

It seems simple for some but for others, this may be struggle and that’s okay.  The fact that you are carving out time for this is a win.

Overtime, you’ll find yourself focusing more on the positive than the negative.

Every night at dinner, we go around the table and ask each other what our favorite part of the day was. Sometimes it’s big glamorous things and other times it’s really simple. The one constant is that it always makes us smile and we are always happy for each other’s wins.

There’s so much pressure from the world to be or There’s so much pressure from the world to be or act a certain way and it’s really freaking exhausting.

I really just want to be me, share my message and forget about the expectations I feel I have to meet. 

More importantly, I want you to feel like you can be you in this space!

So here I am being me. I worked all day. I came home and took care of the fam and once the kiddos went to bed, I sat down to put work into this page because it’s something I love.

This pretty much sums up my every day. It’s not glamorous but it’s the life I’ve created for myself and it’s the life I love.

I take the picture and I start to type my message to all of you because I truly enjoy sharing things that will motivate you to put yourself first and really nurture the person you are deep down.

I want you to realize that what I share on here is not meant to be perfect. I often feel pressure to take the perfect picture or craft the perfect post so that I can reach more and more of you but the truth is, if my content helps just one person find balance or self-love or more positive thoughts, then I’m living my mission.

I can’t keep holding back because I don’t have a photographer grade picture to post or the perfect words to say or a perfectly curated reel.

And I don’t want you to hold back either. 

If there’s something you enjoy doing that you’ve been afraid to do or can’t find the time to do, please just start and make it happen. Just do it. It doesn’t need to be perfect if it makes you happy. Toss out perfection and just do you because it’s fun!

Remember— you’re amazing just the way you are and you deserve whatever you desire. As long as it makes you happy, it doesn’t matter what others think or how many people like it.

“Should” statements often push me from a feeling of calmness to full blown anxiety within minutes.

* I should be with the kiddos 24/7 playing, reading, watching movies, getting outside etc.
* I should have a spotless, organized house
* I should be better at doing my hair and make up more often
* I should workout 5 days a week
* I should only eat healthy foods
* I should be happy 100% of the time 

Life is busy, it gets messy and it gets really hard to keep up with the expectations we place on ourselves and those that others place on us.  Expectation and perfection are two things that often crowd my headspace throwing my life off balance.

Who is with me??

Let me tell ya something—

Life is not all or nothing.
It’s not about being “perfect.”
It’s all about balance girl.

Don’t be hard on yourself.  If you have a burst of energy and you’re getting things crossed of your list, go you! If you are having a strong week full of fitness, go you! If you’re feeling tired and taking a few days to relax, go you! The important thing is that you’re doing what you want, when you want it. Listening to our intuition and really diving into what we want and more importantly, what we need, is how we take care of ourselves.  That’s self-care.

I accept you for you! My path’s mine is a place I accept you for you!

My path’s mine is a place for women to learn about ways to motivate inspire nurture and empower themselves to be the best versions of themselves.  It is not about me pushing one method over another, a program or a product. It is about sharing the things that are available to you or providing little ways to shift your mindset from negativity to positivity. 

The idea behind my paths mine is that you get to create your own path in whatever way makes sense for you. No matter what you choose, as long as you’re prioritizing yourself and what matters most to you, then you’re doing it right! At the end of the day, I want you to be able to confidently say my path’s mine and I want you to be proud of it!

The first question people often ask me is what fitness program I am into or what diet or nutrition program I am following.  The truth is, I like working out and I like eating healthy to feel good. I enjoy a variety of workouts and balance healthy foods with indulging in my favorite foods. These things are such a small part of my self-love journey. They are not at all my primary focus.

In my opinion, self-love doesn’t come from how many reps we have done, how many consecutive workouts we have completed or how well we were able to restrict calories and meet macro goals.

Don’t get me wrong—I value working out and eating healthy.

BUT…

Fitness and nutrition are two ways to take care of yourself.  Just TWO! There is so much more to self-care. So instead of asking someone how they’re loosing weight or what their fitness and nutrition plans are, ask them how they’re caring for all aspects of themselves— mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Self-love is less about appearance and more about

💕 Giving yourself grace
💕 Setting boundaries to protect your happiness
💕 Trusting yourself
💕 Surrounding yourself with people who make your heart happy
💕 Speaking kindly to yourself
💕 Standing up for your own morals and values
💕 Celebrating yourself 
💕 Understanding your own worth
💕 Acknowledging your progress
💕 Prioritizing yourself
